Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book? I don’t currently work with third party referrals such as TAC, VOCAT, DVA, NDIS.
I understand the difficulty faced by many requiring third party payment and as the business grows I endeavour to offer this as an option in the future.
Submit your details on the contact page. I’ll organise a time for us to have a quick chat.
I’ll aim to get back to you within 48hrs to organise a time for an introductory phone call.
If we both decide we are the right fit for each other I can book you in for a session over the phone.
What happens in a session?
Sessions are between 45-50 minutes. In the first few sessions, we’ll spend time understanding whats been going on for you and gathering some background into your symptoms.
This helps me build a clear picture so we can plan the best way to support you.
From there, sessions are guided by you — we’ll focus on your goals and what feels most important to work on.
How much are sessions?
An individual therapy session with myself is $245.
Payment is required at the time of your session.
The APS (Australian Psychological Society) recommended fee for a standard session for the financial year of 2025-2026 is $318.
I offer both in person & telehealth appointments.
Do I need a referral to see you?
What about Medicare?
You do not need a referral to book a session with me.
You may be eligible for medicare rebates, which can help cover the cost of sessions. This requires you to obtain a referral with your GP.
It is also helpful to have a medical professional such as a GP, on your care team in order to provide you with support.
Yes! Ask your GP if you are eligible for a mental health care plan (MHCP) referral.
If you have obtained a MHCP with your GP you can claim a medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Medicare rebates $98.85
Out of pocket cost $146.05
Full payment is needed to be taken before the medicare rebate can be processed.
What about private health?
Is there cancellation policy?
A 24-hour notice is required for all cancellations.
If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, a cancellation fee of 50% of the session fee will apply.
If you do not attend or fail to provide notice, the full session fee (100%) will be charged.
A medicare rebate cannot be used on cancelled session fees.
Depending on your private health fund and coverage you may be able to claim through them.
Unfortunately we cannot claim both through medicare and private health for the one session.
It may be worthwhile contacting you private health to see how much you can claim back!
Do you offer assessments?
I do not currently offer formal assessments such as:
Cognitive Assessments (WAIS-IV)
Attention deficit hyperactive- impulsive disorder Assessments
Autism spectrum disorder assessments
If this is something that you want to look at I can support you in finding the right place.
